Tom Tom has the best Navigators!
Date:26 August 2011
Favorite features: IQ Routes™ Technology, Advanced Lane Guidance, Ease of Use, Spoken Directions including street names
Hiya all! If you thinking of buying a Car GPS Navigator, don't think twice. Tom Tom offers best products on the market! From budget ones up to the expensive ones. And when you might think the cheap ones will be slow or whatever, it is absolutely not true! It just does not have the features that the expensive ones have, like mp3 player, voice recognition, Bluetooth, wide screen etc. I have tried different companies and Tom Tom is the way to go! I have used Tom Tom Go 930 and now use Tom Tom Via 220 and as mentioned before, the only difference is the expensive one would have all the extra features. The reason I have two is I use one for work (deliveries) cheaper one obviously and the expensive one in my car. :)
So guys, don't even think of buying other brands, they're rubbish! Slow processors, voice sounds like buzzing noise etc.
Tom Tom is the way to GO! Love it!

baterry and street nuber!
Date:13 November 2011
Favorite features: Advanced Lane Guidance
i would have liked it to have a battery indicator so I could tell when the battery is low, much better than not having anything on the screen.its scaries me a little bit not knowing hom much batery i have left. The other thing that is confusing is that i cant type the streets nubmers with additional signs like / - .for exmple i live on a street number 1/1 wich is unit and its doesent give me the option to write the full adress number . in general its ok.

Overall, Via220 is an excellent GPS. I found it easy to use and its features are great. I did not want voice recognition and this was one of the reasons why I've bought Via 220. It doesn't take long to set the destination. We'd recently covered a 2300km journey through NSW and Victoria - Via 220 took us to all the selected destinations with great accuracy - it even took a short cut when a section of the Hume Highway was closed. The only critisism I could make is, Via got confused on the speed limit on Hume Highway in Victoria - it kept warning me that the speed limit was 100 kph, whereas it was 110 kph.

The overall product is good. especially for a novice. not too hard to use. the only down side i have with it is that the speed limits on it are wrong. lived in the area for a long time and speed limits have been there for a while and no matter what when you upgrade your map it doesnt change.

My tom tom doesnt like cloudy days or country terrains. Goig to Peterborough from Melbourne at night she took us on the convoluted path over twisty mountain roads and missed a new freeway completely.

I am a sales rep always on the go. What I like is that if i miss a turn, Tom Tom does not repeat 5 times, do a U turn when possible. It simply recalculates the next turn for you.
Would like to be able to see the next turn or 2 when turning a hard corner to know which lane to be in.
MAkes my day a lot easier on the road.

You get what you pay for I guess. I would have liked it to have a battery indicator (similar to a mobile phone) so I could tell when the battery is low, rather than it just going black while driving to a destination - even an audible warning would be better than nothing. Despite being connected to a satellite which can gauge my speed etc. it still thinks I have 10 minutes driving left before I reach my destination when I'm parked outside the destination!

I have found my Tom Tom Via really easy to use and it has been a fantastic addition to my toolkit for getting around major cities. I have been sent to a few no right turns but in general it is fairly accurate - I love it. One of the best features for me is the Bluetooth hands free

I wouldn't mind if it was a bit bigger and quite a bit heavier, if it was able to sit for a week or two without being used and then spring to life when it was needed.

My previous navigator was a 'Road Angel' & it was rubbish. Tom-Tom, for reasons attached, is an excellent product. Good display, good sound, good (but not perfect) accuracy, no software to install. Easy to update info on a Mac (important).
