Search engine is Unusable and its freezing

Not worth to go it, does not give you more than Android Google navigation on your smartphone or Iphone satnav app. Also HD traffic is NOT as good as they say. Its Not the best way how to spend £270, believe me, I am a professional driver.

The loss of Google

Most of tom tom nav systems use to be superb until they removed google search. I cannot even find channel ferry ports in the search engine of there own. I am sure that they are going to lose thousands of customers after doing this. Do not buy.

Address function disappearance

I've passed M1 junction where I should have got into from M25. Switch on the tomtom, but found that the screen button for input address of navigator function did not be active... used google map navigation instead of tomtom. Ｉ relied on iphone google map to drive. after two hours driving, tried tomtome again. the address navigation function was backing... I just wonder does this make sense if someone lost by driving, it has to wait for two hours until the tomtom back to be normal??!! Not reliable product. The old products of tomtom were good though, but not the complicated and reacting slow new latest 'go live 1005'.

Its a good product. Does what it is supposed to do and a load of useful extras like the google search, traffic re-routing, etc. that completely remove the anxiety of unfamiliar roads and finding new places.
I don't really find the touch screen pinch and scrolling gestures very useful but i came from an older version of the tomtom that didn't have it so got used to operating it that way.
One frustrating thing is the buggy management interface 'MyTomTom' which runs via the tomtom website on your PC. Current example is that the computer reports my tomtom needing a Community maps update but it never loads. I preferred the TomTomHome client software from my older tomtom. It does work absolutely fine for map updates though so not a major problem and I am sure tomtom are working on fixes and improvements (I hope anyway).
The other minor annoyance is that on this model you cant add photos or other files to it, like music tracks, audio books or home made voice files (as you could on my older model). Not sure why - there seems to be plenty of storage space available - I have the Europe and USA maps installed and there is still some space to spare.
