This purchase was specific to help me train for the Great North run. It has been a great help, showing my improvements, helping to identify the areas of difficulty and putting it all in easy to understand format. A real running buddy.

Review 4 for Nike + SportWatch GPS Powered by TomTom
Very good value. It doesn't offer many features, but the accuracy, the look and the ease to use compensate very well. I would suggest it to every runner! The improvements I suggest to implement are: - adding "average lap speed"; - adding the possibility to program specific tipes of training (i.e. fartleck ....)

pining for my data!
Date:11 September 2012
Favorite features: Tracks Route Data, Run History
Everything works as advertised. I'm quite pleased.
The feature that is most missing is the fact that you can't get your data onto your own machine. The website plots whatever it wants to plot (and it has lots of pretty colors and sexy animations) but for any serious analysis you need to have the data available on your own box. I want to be able to separate weekday runs from weekend runs because I do different routes and have different energy; the website just does not understand that. I want to delete certain runs because I stopped to talk to someone and all the times got muddled; the website will not repair that for you. I want to plot runs over the same route on top of each other so that I can see where I am slow relative to other days; the website simply won't do that. The watch and the site give you averages that are muddled averages of things that don't belong together. The "trends" are pretty well meaningless. In short, we could massage the data in a zillion ways if we had it, but I can find no support from TomTom or Nike for even the most elementary data retrieval.
These new data points are a fabulous new application of GPS, but the data are trapped in box just out of reach. Too bad. Too bad.

Good but bulky
Date:12 September 2011
The watch is great but is a little bulky.
I would also like to see Nike+ features that are on the desktop enabled on the watch ie intervals
The SAT acquisition is sometimes slow
I have the Nike wristband also; Make it that neat and you are on a winner.

Great little item
Date:11 September 2011
Favorite features: IQ Routes™ Technology, Advanced Lane Guidance, Ease of Use
This is easy to use and fairly accurate piece of kit. The only real down side is that it is a bit bulky. If you,re wearing a jumper it gets in the way. Other wise i would recommend it.

Disapointed, cannot produce a printable version to show progression with just relevant black and white facts without the graphics etc, cannot just upload a single run to face book needs to be planned, (other sytems you can choose to upload a good run after completion), Nike you have to have registered before hand- who wants to share every single training run and you have other things to think about before a race! I received it as a present, & felt it was expensive compared to other devices and use has done nothing to change that opinion.

Wonderful product- until it fails at 4 months
Date:10 September 2011
Favorite features: Ease of Use, connection to nike+
Fantastic watch! Really got me running more often- the need to 'feed' it with runs has become something of an obsession... I like to think that is a good point! Easy link up to Nike+ website to store and review all your running routes- HOWEVER... after 3 1/2 months of very regular use my watch suddenly stopped being recognised by my pc, despite following all sorts of troubleshooting advice was not able to resolve. Fortunately Nike have now replaced the dud, although I lost nearly a month of run data (and also ran less without my electronic buddy!) so I am back to building up a relationship again with Watch #2. Be warned though... the problem I encountered was not unique, and I have found a not inconsiderable number of disapointed customers on Nike+ website. SUMMARY: A wonderful watch when it's working- well worth the money for the features and Nike + support. DO NOT BUY if Nike / TomTom do not supply & support the product in the area you live... UK and US should be okay tho'.
