No Google Search, Community POI, Home Incompatatbl
Date:December 26, 2012
Favorite features: you removed my favorite features
It appears that because Apple is in a wee wee match with Google and Tom Tom partnered with Apple they removed the ONLY FEATURE I WANTED WHEN I BOUGHT THIS UNIT!!! They have removed the Google Search which was the popular with customers buying this unit.
Worse yet, they replaced it with Tom Tom Places which is WEAK! In fact, when I attempted to add our law office, the United States was not EVEN AN OPTION! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! That begs the question, how does their database get updated or built accurately?
I then have searched for several hours for the Community Points of interest -- AGAIN CANNOT FIND THEM AND IS ANOTHER REASON FOR PURCHASING TOM TOM which has been taken away. In my previous unit, I have Walmarts, Waterfalls, Lighthouses, Pharmacies, Lowe's, all kinds of POIs I used -- Again removed from this product.
Another tool which was available in earlier versions making it easier to use the device is Tom Tom Home -- Again they have REMOVED this device from operating with this tool which made it easier to manage your device and setup Routes, Points of Interests, etc you wanted to plan on your trip.
IF you are reading this and considering purchasing ANY new Tom Tom - RECONSIDER IMMEDIATELY. This company has absolutely NO CONCERN WHAT SO EVER for their customers and why they would purchase a device like this over using the unit in the car or a smart phone. I contend that their R&D are so backwards in their thinking that they cannot see that the only way these devices will survive is if they can work to enhance the traveler's experience.

HORRIBLE WITHOUT GOOGLE SEARCH
Date:December 9, 2012
Favorite features: none anymore
TOM TOM live services without GOOGLE is not worth buying. I have always been a customer of TOM TOM for many many years. I have owned my TOM TOM 1535 for approximately 5 months. The maps and directions are inaccurate and appears to cover only 5 to 10 mile radius. I'm finding myself looking for a business on my cell phone and plugging the address into the GPS....a waist of my time. This GPS must be returned. TOM TOM BAD MOVE, VERY BAD MOVE! Why fix what is not broken? You have just lost one faithful customer.

Google Services now gone!!!
Date:September 21, 2012
Favorite features: Local Search with Google™, now with google is gone so pretty much none.
It seems that Tom Toms partnering with Apple has caused them to remove Google's part in the Live Services. Local Searches is a lot more inaccurate, and the ratings are now gone. Along with that I haven't been able to get traffic updates for the last week causing a service I pay for to become pretty much useless. Factory resets and the lot has not fixed any of these issues. Avoid please.

BEST GPS I HAVE EVER OWNED! - Bought 3 for FAM
Date:July 19, 2012
Favorite features: Local Search with Google™, Voice command and control, spoken street names, tomtom hd traffic, portability
Simply the BEST GPS unit I have ever owned! - Was given this unit as a gift. Fell in LOVE with it and promptly bought 3 more for family members. I have owned TomToms and other GPS units in the past and NONE compare to this model! *Love the Bluetooth Capability (Hand Free Calling is Awesome) and the Amazing Graphics with Turn by Turn Advanced Lane Guidance & Instructions, which I VERY much need being from the ATL. Have saved hours of time and gas with the Fastest Traffic Route Options and have even used this as a portable unit while finding my way through downtown NYC! Can't say enough great things about this product! I'd like to add that it is both EASY and FUN to use as well because I am in NO WAY a TECH SAVVY Man!

HD Traffic and Live services are miserable
Date:July 10, 2012
Favorite features: iq routing
I puchased this last week. I travel frequently and mostly within the tri-state area of Long Island, NYC, CT, and NJ.
HD traffic and Live services are absolutely miserable. It's a good luck if you can it get connection.
After booting, the right side of the screen has a traffic bar and within it a wheel that spins until it gets connected and loads traffic information. It's a very rare event when it gets connected to the services. After it spins it's wheel for several minutes you're left with a yellow triangle. If you click it you'll get the red screen of death that reads system error. To make matters worse, the unit never makes another attempt to connect to the HD Traffic service to capture the information. Once you have the yellow triangle in the traffic bar, you have to reboot. After the 2nd day of misery, I found that after you reboot as many as 12 times and wait a few minutes between reboots, you're lucky if HD traffic gets connected. How is this a time saver? Do you really want to do this while you're driving or sit at your location for 30 minutes or longer rebooting?
Live services has the same issue. I click on the gas prices icon to get the spinning wheel of death leading to the red screen of death that reads wireless service not connected.
It was registered properly through the Tomtom website and registered through the TomTom 1535M itself. There were 2 updates available, one for map and one for software. No issues with MyTomTom.
I did find that it would connect to the services every time on the 1st boot after 10 or 11PM. Really???? TomTom has major problems with their network and network load during the daytime and specifically during times of rush hour, which is nearly every hour of every day between 6AM and 9PM in the areas I drive every day, when HD Traffic is needed most.
Throughout my extensive travels of nearly 800 miles per week between Long Island, NYC, NJ, and CT, the HD Traffic services are worthless, it just wouldn't connect regardless of town, city, state, and every place I traveled between. It reminded me of the old days of dial up internet, when you dialed into AOL or Mindspring and the modem wouldn't connect the first time and you had to try a dozen times to finally get connected to the internet, or wait until after 11PM to get connected on the first try.
A total system reset didn't help the situation either.
The fact that it always connects on the first try after 10 or 11PM and very rarely during daylight hours (after a dozen reboots waiting a few minutes between if you're lucky), indicates that the unit itself is working, and the services are completely unreliable and a total waste of time.
I guess one could just never turn the TomTom off on the rare event a connection was made to the services, and place the TomTom under the car seat, glove box, or console, if you had an always live 12v socket at the risk of draining your car battery. Now wouldn't that be totally rediculous? Then again the services system might disconnect from the TomTom anyway.
The TomTom 1535M failed miserably for me in regards to HD Traffic and services.

Great GPS but bluetooth is all but unusable.
Date:April 18, 2012
Favorite features: Local Search with Google™, Mobile Speed Cameras, spoken street names, tomtom hd traffic
Everything is great on this GPS except the bluetooth. The list of compatible phones is outdated. They should really remove any compatibility requirements as its 2012 and bluetooth is pretty much universal across all Android and iOS phones, my phone is a year old and not even on that list. This with the GO Live HD was the selling feature for me and I am disappointed. Go here before you decide on bluetooth vs no bluetooth. http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/

Hit by the leap year bug!
Date:April 3, 2012
I used the first time my new Tom Tom Go Live 1535M after arriving here in the US yesterday. It worked well yesterday but today my unit was hit by the so called leap year bug. Now it I cannot find any gps signal despite waiting for an hour and resetting it numerous times. When will this be fixed?

Excellent GPS
Date:January 31, 2012
Favorite features: Local Search with Google™, Voice command and control, tomtom hd traffic, hidden sd slot
Recieved this unit as a replacement for a VIA series that broke down. Love the HD traffic,so much more info on secondary roads and the 2 minute OTA updates save me everytime, much better than FM traffic.Bluetooth connects everytime automatically and works great, love the Google search and travel features.Voice control is excellent also.I use this unit everyday travelling between worksites,it gets me there faster and avoids traffic better than anything I've ever used.Plus I found a hidden SD card slot,(not listed in specs) can't wait to see if it get's flashed so it functions. Now it's only the test of time.Love this GPS

Go Live 1535....i love you!!!
Date:December 7, 2011
Favorite features: IQ Routes™ Technology, Advanced Lane Guidance, Ease of Use, Spoken Directions including street names
This is my second GPS from TomTom and i have to say that the 1535 is my favorite. Easy to setup/use and i love the larger screen. By having the HD Live Traffic updates i was able to shave 19min off my morning commute! I love the fact that it doesn't constantly yell out RECALCULATING. The Advance Lane Guidance has been a hugh plus as well when i'm driving in new areas etc. This has been one of the best items i've ever purchased for myself and i would def recommend this product to my friends! Thank you Tom Tom!

Wow! The best GPS I've seen in years
Date:October 25, 2011
Favorite features: Advanced Lane Guidance, Spoken Directions including street names
The opening screen looked like a mini-hidef TV. After the opening screen closed I was given the option of taking a short intro/tutorial, of navigating. I took the tutorial. It only covers the very basics and took about two minutes. I added my "home" location - took another couple of minutes and drove around. The GPS starts up and finds satellites blazingly fast - only a few seconds. While it discovers the satellites the GPS shows tips on using the GPS.
It's highly accurate - more so than my previous TomTom or two year old Garmin. The large screen is gorgeous and crisp. It's less cluttered than other GPS unit's I've used. The new interface is akin to the minimized Google maps you see - smaller icons that expand when you touch them. There are no buttons except the power - everything else is touch-screen based.
The features list goes on and on and on. Voice commands, traffic avoidance (updates every 2 minutes), built-in Google places, Expedia, TripAdvisor and Yelp, instant twitter updates and more. The "live" services are included for one year (currently $60 a year.) One big reason to take a serious look at this GPS - FREE LIFETIME MAP UPDATES! That's worth the price of the GPS alone. If you keep it plugged in, the unit will turn on and off automatically. It also pairs with your phone via BlueTooth - it acts as an extension of your phone - displays caller ID and can even place calls.
Pretty much every feature can be customized, so you can tailor the GPS to your tastes and needs.
